How to Play Block Blast

New to Block Blast? This complete beginner's guide teaches you everything you need to know to start playing and scoring well.

Basic Rules

Block Blast is played on an 8×8 grid. You receive three blocks at a time. Place them on the grid to fill rows or columns. When a row or column is completely filled, it clears and you earn points. The game ends when no blocks can be placed.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Start the game — Open block-blast.app and the game loads instantly
  2. Pick a block — Tap or click one of the three blocks at the bottom
  3. Place it — Click or tap on the 8×8 grid where you want to place it
  4. Clear lines — Fill complete rows or columns to clear them and earn points
  5. Keep going — New blocks appear after each placement
  6. Game over — When no blocks can be placed, the game ends

Block Types

There are 7 block shapes: I (3-long straight), O (2×2 square), T, L, J (reverse L), S, and Z. Each shape has different placement strategies.

Controls

Desktop: Click to select blocks and place them. Use Undo/Redo buttons.

Mobile: Tap to select and place. Touch-optimized for all screens.
